What is it about?
There are conflicting data about the role of central leptin in regulating cardiac lipid accumulation. In the present study, we demonstrated that central leptin decreases cardiac lipid content by increasing the expression of genes involved in myocardial intracellular lipolysis and mitochondrial/peroxisomal fatty acid utilization, whereas decreasing those involved in TAG synthesis.
