What is it about?
Mitochondria are crucial for cellular bioenergetics and survival and their dysfunction plays a central role in aging. Our results indicate that lack of ovarian hormones induces functional changes and alters the lipid milieu in hippocampal mitochondria comparable to an aging phenotype.
