What is it about?

The big "AFRO-Brazilan" religion is Candomblé. Umbanda is a Brazilian religion that began in the 1920s. Umbanda illustrates that the pendulum swing of treating many Latin American religions as African diaspora traditions needs to swing back a bit, in order to pay more attention to local historical and cultural contexts.
