What is it about?

This transcript relates a discussion about "work and (family) life balance" in chemistry work world (academia, industry,etc...) held at an international conference. I facilitated the discussion and gave some guiding questions. This is a transcript which was recorded and published with permission from participants.

Why is it important?

Two things are shifting: the nature of work, the nature of social and family life. More graduate students and post-doctoral researchers are starting families and taking on responsibilities outside the work place; more professors are attending conferences with their children. This work was intended to take some stock of the stories, struggles and successes of chemistry professionals across the globe. Is there anything we can learn going forward?
