What is it about?

It is about a framework how to understand "being" as a phase-transition from "nothing". It is formulated in a well established mathematical framework, the so-called "phase-field theory" which bases on the physical concept of "solitons". The solitons form a "spin-network" where elementary particles, the solitons, are embedded as junctions between discrete fields. It makes predictions on the structure of the known universe.

Why is it important?

The present understanding of physics is based on the dualism between mass and space. In order to overcome several conceptual problems of this dualistic view, a monistic (earlier named "unitary") view is needed, where mass and space are formulated on a common field-theoretical ground. This has been demanded by several scientists interested in fundamental problems, the most prominent Einstein and Rosen. The "quantum-phase-field concep of mattert" offers a new perspective.

Perspectives

Next steps are: Consistent formulation of charge and other quantum numbers of elementary particles. Formulating an alternative model of cosmology on basis of the present concepts which strictly sticks to energy conservation.
