This work describes the structures and compositions of hydroxopiridinium salts.

Why is it important?
Up to now succinic salt is used as a drug. the study may help to find new medical application for hydroxopyridine. Besides, intermolecular interactions in organic crystals are of scientific importance. The presence of different types of interactions (hydrogen bonding. pi-stacking) give additional information on the formation of organic crystals.
Perspectives
We hope that we shall report of another couple of salts after patenting is finished. There structures are fantastic!
