What is it about?

It is about how household organise in order to make a living. It cannot be assumed that the members of a household work together, how it is assumed in common appoaches to livelihoods.

Why is it important?

According to common approaches to livelihoods, it is necessary to measure the resource endowment of a household in order to assess its economic status. However, the availability of resources is less meaningful than the question of whether these resources are actually being put into value.
