What is it about?

Publication of an interesting seven sacred oil tablet dating from the end of Sixth Dynasty or later found underneath the body of Djau in the burial chamber of his tomb (no. 12) at Deir el-Gebrawi.

Why is it important?

One of the best examples of the so-called ointment tablets or seven sacred oil slabs found so far. It is the only one made of schist. It is also in addition to that one of only three tablets found embedded in a limestone base.
