Why is it important?

It contributes to the improvement of further cross-disciplinary research about the positive impact of dramatic activities with the elderly and benefit larger groups of care homes residents in the UK and abroad.

Perspectives

It was a great pleasure to work with one of my students in this article. Miss Smith brings her fresh perspective and enthusiasm about applied theatre and wellbeing with elderly populations, which takes me outside my comfort zone in applied theatre for children in hospitals. Working on this article offered me another perspective of the role of theatre within a variety of age groups, abilities, venues and contexts. More than anything else, I find this article a warm-up for further comparative research on applied theatre, children and the elderly, and the inter-connections between the them. I hope that you will enjoy reading it!
