What is it about?

Psychotherapists, even if they are secular, should have cultural and religious sensitivity, in order to treat patients from religious backgrounds. Often they do not only present with their psychological conflicts but also with their spiritual struggles. The article offers guidelines how to deal with religious patients both in a professional and empathic way.

Many psychotherapists have very little exposure to cultural and spiritual sensitivity in therapy. The article intends to increase their sensititvity for religious patients. This will enhance their therapeutic effectivity.
