What is it about?

prolactin is an important hormone both in men and women. Its alterations in situations such as pregnancy, lactation mating is very well known. but, its relationship with renal failure in not very well established. in this study, we showed that there is a positive relationship between prolactin blood levels and renal failure in diabetic patients.

Why is it important?

diabetes type 2 is very common in overweight people above 40 years old. One of the important consequence of uncontrolled diabetes is renal failure. Finding a biochemical marker to show the susceptibility of renal failure in these patients before virtual failure is very important.

Perspectives

Prolactin blood levels might be a right bio-marker to indicates the susceptibility to renal failure in diabetes.
