What is it about?
Because of complexity in simulation of randomly oriented carbon nanotubes in three dimensional space by finite element method, we introduced a new two dimensional model based on elliptical cross sections of carbon nanotubes for different polymer-carbon nanotubes.

Why is it important?
This 2D method can be used easily to simulate CNTs in different nano composites.
Perspectives
Adding carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to a polymeric matrix at a particular weight fraction- entitled electrical percolation threshold (EPT) - resulted in several orders of magnitudes increasing of electrical conductivity of the composite. This phenomenon can be used in different applications in the industry, medicine, and so on.
