What is it about?

In the paper, the complexity of the tourism system, as well as modelling in a frame of systems dynamics, is discussed. The phenomenon of tourism, which possesses the typical properties of global and local organisations, is presented as a system with all the elements of complexity, which require an optimal methodology to explain the relations among them.

Why is it important?

A system dynamics methodology is shown as the appropriate one. Namely, due to its transparency is an excellent tool for modelling of complex systems and strategic decision-making assessment. We describe the tourism complexity and its problems and build a qualitative causal loop diagram, which will help to discuss the problem categorically. Finally, we build a simulation model in a frame of system dynamics as an illustration of the discussed methodology.

Perspectives

It is easy to make decisions if one starts to think in systems and learns (or teaches ) how to see the whole (the Big picture). In reality, a consensus can be made, where all involved elements of a system gain., when a system as a whole gain.
