What is it about?

Organizations should implement new findings from the field of human resource management. If an organization wants to have successful and effective employees, they should be satisfied with all aspects of work and at the same time they should be feel commitment towards an organization. To have a full insight in employees, organizations have to take care of psychological side of employees, which manifests in psychological empowerment.

Knowledge of psychological empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment can be helpful for leaders, because with this knowledge they can manage, develop and motivate employees properly.

Perspectives

Understanding the importance of employees’ psychological empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment is of great importance for managers, because knowing the levels of mentioned constructs can help them how to handle them appropriate and also how to motivate them. Additionally, it can genuinely assist managers to eliminate disturbing factors which directly or indirectly influence on psychological empowerment, job satisfaction and/or organizational commitment. Our research has been conducted among lecturers in higher education in six CEE countries based on different national cultures, where we found significant differences in psychological empowerment, normative and continuance organizational commitment, and job satisfaction; on the contrary, we did not find significant differences in affective organizational commitment.
