What is it about?

This is a review on the book "Mission Medina" by Thomas K. Gugler. The book is about the Islamic youth cult "Da'wat-e Islami" (Islamic Mission), which was founded in Karachi by the Barelvi (pro-Sufi Sunni Muslim) Muḥammad Qādrī ʿAṭṭār in order to counter the activities of the Tablighi Jama'at (a Deobandi, anti-Sufi, missionary youth organization). Though fierce enemies, both organizations fit into the spectrum of Islamic fundamentalism. The book also shows why youths from Pakistan and from Islamic environments in Europe have a reason to join such cults.
