What is it about?

Usually, the concepts which are important in non-commutative rings also play important role in the context of C(X), the ring of continuous functions. The socle is such an example which is dealt with in this article.

Why is it important?

The super socle which is introduced here gives useful connections between some algebraic properties of C(X) and some topological properties of X.

Perspectives

The socle of C(X) was introduced and topologically characterized more than two decades ago by the second author and M. Rostsami in Proc. AMS. The literature shows it plays an important role in the context of C(X). We hope the super socle plays the same role too.
