What is it about?

To understand the behavior of complex systems is crucial to characterize natural phenomena. This paper shows how complex systems composed by gaussian random variables behave in terms of information when the inverse temperature is disturbed, by proposing a mathematical model of hysteresis.

Why is it important?

Our investigations indicate that , geometrically, the behavior of the systems when entropy increases is different from the behavior when entropy decreases, leading to a hysteresis model in which the orientation is captures an arrow of time.

Perspectives

We expect to that the work may influence the development of novel tools and models based on the notion of information for the study and characterization of complex systems
