What is it about?

It is a study that focuses on specific cutting angles e.g. rake and relief angles, in the case of tool in hand system and tool in use system.

Why is it important?

The study is important because the realtive motion between the tool and the workpiece is of a high complexity, where prediction of real cutting geometry isn't possible through simple geometric models

Perspectives

The new gear type collects all the advantages of the bevel and hyoid gears by maintaining of the accuracy of ratio met by the cylindrical gears. It will consistently reduce the mass of the transmission. It is the gear pair of the future gearboxes.
