Why is it important?
Quantitative methods allow a more fine-grained analysis of the dimensions of linguistic constructions in which language contact might play a role. This article showcases the use of a statistical modeling technique which has proven its efficiency in areal linguistics studies and learner corpus research.
Perspectives
This contribution paves the way to novel methodologies for the analysis linguistic mechanisms and outcome of language contact.
