What is it about?

Librarians in academic libraries in Nigeria are tasked to be more innovative/creative to meet the rising needs and expectations of the academic community. This paper investigated the organizational climate of four academic libraries in Nigeria in relation to innovation/creativity.

Why is it important?

The continuing relevance of academic libraries in Nigeria is dependent upon their ability to come up with innovative/creative services and products. We investigated the organizational climate of some academic libraries in relation to innovation/creativity. The findings reflected the problems and challenges which hinder innovation and creativity and the strategies to enhance them.

Perspectives

The research is in-depth and timely. It challenges management of academic libraries in Nigeria to improve on the organizational climate of their libraries to enhance innovation and creativity among librarians.
