What is it about?

In this paper, two- and three-dimensional numerical modeling is applied in order to simulate water flow behavior over the new Niedów barrage in South Poland. The draining capacity of one of the flood alleviation structures (ogee weir) for exploitation and catastrophic conditions was estimated.

Why is it important?

Numerical model is becoming very popular for the analysis of hydraulic and environmental problems. In this article, we are trying to explain that numerical modelling can be used for the analysis and design of new hydro-engineering problems.

Perspectives

I hope that the readers will understand that the usage of numerical techniques are a powerful and useful tool for the analysis of hydraulic structures.
