What is it about?

The method uses parametric programming technique to drill deep holes on a CNC machining center. The user can modify dynamically the basic factors of cutting such as feedrate and spindle speed for efficient drilling. Parametric programming is part of the general G/M code language and can be found in all modern CNC systems.

Why is it important?

Τhe method overrides the standardized capabilities of the existing drilling cycles since it can adapt different feedrate and spindle speed at different depths thus ensuring optimal cutting conditions at any drilling depth.

Perspectives

I hope the article can give an alternative capability for drilling deep holes besides the existing canned cycles available on CNC machining centers.
