The prince ordered a confession of the Saxon pastors of Transylvania in the sense of Confessio Augustana. The suoperintendent realised an variety of meanings especially mentioning Melanchthons eucharistic theology.

Why is it important?

The "Saxon" church of Transylvania was orientated to Melanchthon, but presented itself officially as "lutheran", but a long period incorporated many "cryptocalvinistic" members and theologians.

Perspectives

The development of different uniform confessions, which were came up in central Europe to this time, didn't find parallels in Eastern Europe at the same time. Political and theological background allowed a longer period of fluent borderlines.
