What is it about?
This policy-focused paper firstly defines the concept of ‘sustainable territorial innovation’ and its operationalisation according to the strategic objectives of Europe 2020. The empirical basis for statistical processing has used 26 indicators, on which we performed multivariate analysis, which allowed us to identify ten groups of municipalities characterised with respect to the territorial sustainable innovation’s concept analysed. Their GIS spatial distribution has led us to cross them with the indicators’ set proposed by the Italian Government, in the 2014 -2020 perspective. Final remarks will address the constraints and opportunities for urban and peri‐urban agriculture policies within new scenarios.
