What is it about?
We report green synthesis of AgNPs using aqueous extract of Pupalia lappacea (L.) Juss. UV–vis spectroscopy reveals a characteristic surface plasmon resonance absorption band at 420 nm. TEM results showed spherical shaped AgNPs of size 14.48 nm.

Why is it important?
Pupalia lappacea mediated AgNPs can be used for clinical and medical applications.
Perspectives
The therapeutic properties of this plant may be linked to its bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, amino acids, glycosides, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, starch, steroids, terpenoids and coumarins which could possibly aid in the reduction of Ag+ in AgNO3 to produce AgNPs and therefore have suitable bio-factories for the green synthesis of potentially bioactive nanoparticles.
