What is it about?

Critical Clearing Time(CCT) is the maximum time that fault can remain in power system and the system is recovered to its normal operation condition after the fault

Why is it important?

In recent years, in order to economic purpose, power systems are operating closest to maximum capacity. Therefore, Transient stability margin and real time evaluation of power system is one of the main research directions investigated in the operation and planning of power system during the last two decades. On the other hand, electricity supply industries need a real time simulator to evaluate transient stability margin of power system while a large disturbance such as three phase short circuit occurs in the system.

Perspectives

This article was part of my research during my Ph.D thesis. I think the proposed approach will be useful and practical for real-time software to assess transient stability margin of power system. I hope you find this article thought-provoking.
