What is it about?

Many students of programming struggle with many simultaneous tasks: They have to understand the tast, think of possible solutions, come up with some coding ideas, type them correctly and use the right features of their programming environment. Often, they have to use even different tools, e.g. word processor, pdf reader, coding editor, etc. In order to relieve students from some of these burdens, they now only have to use 1 tool: 5Code integrates all of these tasks and links them in one window. Especially beginners can profit because they can concentrate on thinking and developing a fitting solution, finding all they need in one tool.

Why is it important?

Professionals in programming are widely in demand. It is important that as many students as possible successfully educate themselves in this area. Unfortunately, the available tools are either to basic (point and click) or too advanced and complex for beginners im programming in college or university. 5Code as a tool that supports all phases of programming, not just "coding" but also analysing the problem and designing and documenting the solution is most helpful in this regard.

Perspectives

It's always been my wish, to help students to overcome the many hurdles towards a true grasp of what "programming" is. 5Code to me seems to provide as much support as a technical tool can offer. It isn't perfect yet but we're constantly working on improvements - stay tuned.
