What is it about?
This study presents a methodology to balance work load of dragline units in a fleet. This is called synchronization. When there is deep overburden cover in a strip mine, a fleet of large-capacity stripping units is usually deployed. The advance rate or the pace of excavators must closely match to each other. Otherwise units should delay working in order to maintain a safe distance between them.

Why is it important?
When the stripping fleet is well-synchronized, this reflects itself in a minimized waiting time of units, thus minimized stripping cots.
Perspectives
This article could give a perspective about planning the work of multi-dragline stripping units. We spent considerable effort in developing the algorithm. Hope it is found useful in similar cases.
