What is it about?
A combination of field based observations and several laboratory methods is used in order to constrain the depositional age and subsequent tectonic evolution of sedimentary sequences associated with basement units in the Apuseni Mountains.

Why is it important?
New thermal data allow to constrain the evolution of the marble sequence in the readily available framework of thermochronological data from basement units. The depositional age of the sedimentary sequence allows the interpretation as a Mesozoic nappe separator, which has further implications on the Alpine evolution of the Apuseni Mountains.
