Why is it important?
There is no much information about the problem in our region. We aimed at understanding the role of cytomegalovirus infection in neonatal patology in Northeastern Bulgeria, Varna. We investigated 517 newborns, divided into two groups, that were suspicious of having congenital or early postpartal cytomegalovirus infection.
Perspectives
We intend to continue our work with PCR analysis.
