What is it about?
Using of full-thickness skin grafts from different places (upper eyelid, preauricular, brachium) for reconstruction of anterior lamela of the eyelid is very useful surgical procedure. In some cases it is combined with modified Hughes plastic (tarso-conjunctival flap). We present our experience and results with this technique and discuss possible complications.

Why is it important?
Our study shows that reconstruction of the eyelid with free skin graft provides excellent functional and aesthetic results. Complications are very rare.
Perspectives
I hope that this article will stimulate more surgeons to use free skin grafts for eyelid reconstruction. Because, once learned this technique can replace using of skin flaps (they create more scars) in many cases.
