The internationalisation of corporate indemnification has not led to the full introduction of the US experience in the Portuguese, Italian and German legal systems. These civil law legal orders are more restrictive and demanding than most US jurisdictions in authorising corporate indemnification which protects directors from property losses caused by litigation
