What is it about?

Its about the delivery that I conducted in the middle of the highway in western Nepal. Due to difficult geographical terrains and lack of adequate transportation, institutional delivery is still low. Although there is increased awareness in the community about safe delivery, delay in decision, delay in transportation and delay in initiation of treatment are still prevalent specially in the rural communities.

Why is it important?

This article explores the reasons behind the first and second delays in maternity care.

Perspectives

The article is about the perspectives of feelings of a mother who was helped by a medical team to conduct her delivery in the middle of the highway. Had we not timely noticed her and conducted the delivery, the outcome could have been different.
