What is it about?

Review of nickel alloys for electrochemical devices, namely aqueous electrolyzers for water splitting in hydrogen and oxygen.

Why is it important?

Nickel and nickel alloys are very useful as electrodes and also as other components of the water electrolyzers , being important under the technical and commercial point of view to revise their characteristics and novel developments for that and other applications.

Perspectives

This paper is part of a research project developed in my lab at Instituto superior Tecnico, which consisted on a study and development of a n electrolyzer for an efficient production of hydrogen. Synthesis of novel electrode materials, construction of small cells, economic evaluatios, etc were considered and developed.
