In the course of the development of a new annotation scheme for discourse markers in spoken language, we performed an evaluation in the form of an annotation experiment with naïve and expert annotators.

Why is it important?

It is important to keep in mind that (discourse) annotation schemes strongly depend on the research questions at stake. At the same time, we would like our schemes to be reusable and allow comparison.
