What is it about?
Electrode drifts in extracellular recordings of neuronal activity generally prohibit a proper recording and post-processing of recorded signals. We are developing signal-based algorithms/simulations to inversely estimate electrical neuronal source positions.

Why is it important?
We found that the spatial resolution of multichannel microelectrode recordings of electrical neuronal activity depends on the inter-electrode spacing and the signal-to-noise ratio. To localize neuronal sources the multi-sensor electrodes should be selected towards spatial requirements.
Perspectives
This work show some theoretical results which can be considered in further studies.
