What is it about?
In recent years, technological advancements have led to the development of several new HPLC platforms, each promising enhanced performance, user-friendliness, and workflow efficiency, especially when connected to track systems or buddied with a hematology analyzer. This evaluation aims to critically assess 4 newly introduced cation exchange HPLC systems for the determination of HbA1c, focusing on key parameters such as analytical accuracy, precision, linearity, carry-over and the effect of hemoglobin variants and other potential interferences. Although the basic analytical criteria were met by each instrument, there were significant differences when you take a more detailed review looking at factors such as interference behavior, usability, and software etc.
