Response to article by Caponi et al. about serum free light chains

What is it about?

Caponi et al report on the differences in composition of the Freelite and N Latex kappa and lambda free light chains calibrators using gel filtration chromatography and Western blotting. We confirm their findings from work conducted in a cross-sectional study in 112 haemodialysis patients without known paraproteinaemia, pre- and post-dialysis.Laboratories should be aware that results of different assays cannot be used interchangeably.
