Effects of high-dose, intravenous lipid emulsion on laboratory tests in humans: a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, clinical crossover trial

What is it about?

We investigated – in a randomized clinical trial with healthy participants – how a high-dose, intravenous fat emulsion affected common laboratory tests. We found that the overall effects on most tests were small, even though most test results were blocked by the analysis software because of the high lipid content in the samples.
