What is it about?
Urine albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) is an important laboratory parameter used for detection of early kidney damage. We have found that the harmonisation of ACR results between laboratories is insufficient, primarily due to poor harmonisation of urinary albumin measurement. The harmonisation of albumin measurements is crucial and urgently needed to ensure the proper diagnostic value of the ACR index in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of kidney damage.
