What is it about?

Colon cancer detection and monitoring is challenging. Cell free DNA derived from urine specimens provide a viable tumor material source for probing the disease. The benefits are easier tumor material extraction and allow close monitoring with serial sample analysis. Our study established a good agreement to existing gold standard tissue extraction and presents opportunity to better manage patient’s treatment regime. This gives hopes of better survival for critical patients. Our method and assay also showed good and consistent measurements that can be translated to other cancer types.
