What is it about?
Mathematical modeling of chemical reactions is one of the bases of theoretical studies of actual biochemical research and has made important contributions to advances in biomedical and pharmaceutical researches. In the mathematical modeling of enzymatic reactions, the "total quasi-steady-state approximation" (tQSSA) allows a better understand and interpret nonlinear phenomena like oscillations, multistability, and ultrasensitivity. In this paper we determine the Center Manifold of the system and discuss its asymptotic equivalence with the tQSSA.
