What is it about?
This is a long-term study of brown algae (kelps and rockweeds) in Ireland. We compare historical distributions from the 1930s, 1950s, and 1980s to contemporary distributions. We discuss major changes that have occurred including harsh winters, large fluctuations of sea urchins, and marine reserve designation.
