What is it about?

It is possible to observe similarities between the legal measures adopted in the area of data protection and ones which were developed in the environmental law. Similarly to the human activities in case of the natural environment, new technologies can cause difficult to foresee threats for society. The example of such case is discriminatory treatment resulting from automated decision-making. Using precautionary principle (as understood in environmental law) could provide inspiration for better analysis of the possible results of using new technological solutions.
