What is it about?
A method for sensorless position estimation for electromagnetic actuators based on signal injection is proposed. The position dependent parameters are identified at the frequency of the injected signal and the position of the plunger is determined by a suitable model. The applicability of the procedure for sensorless feedback control of the plunger position is demonstrated by practical experiments with a directional control valve.
