What is it about?
The present article describes the main characteristics of the Pannonia Corpus. This corpus is composed of translated and non-translated Hungarian texts. The corpus is intermodal, and it contains audiovisual texts as well.

Why is it important?
The corpus described in this article is the first large electronic corpus of translated Hungarian. Its current size is about 15 million words. It can accommodate a wide range of research needs, and can support translator training oriented applications.
Perspectives
Since this is the first representative corpus of translated Hungarian, this corpus is important for supporting corpus-based translation studies in the Hungarian context.
