Why is it important?
The paper argues strictly philosophically. It tries to understand why religion is concerned with identity problems, but that this all the same need not lead to violence and to giving up attempts at intercultural communication.
Perspectives
I hope that the paper will contribute to an understanding of religion that avoids Literalism and thus makes mutual understanding possible without giving up the seriousness of the issues.
