We studied the importance of dogs in the transmission of parasitic zoonosis in an endemic area of Laos tracking dogs' roaming pattern and diagnosing its parasites.

Why is it important?

Opisthorchiasis is a major cause of cholangiocarcinoma in Southeast Asian Countries. We confirmed dogs as important hosts on the maintenance of Opisthorchis viverrini life cycle in an endemic area of Laos.
