What is it about?
In ATHENA 2028 space mission one part of the Wide Field Imager (WFI) is an extremely thin and fragile optic filter. Engineers responsible for that part are worrying that noise during launch will destroy the filter. That is why many simulations and measurements are done in order to be sure, that all fragile parts will survive the launch.

Why is it important?
As for now, fragile parts were launched in vacuum condition to limit sound impact on it. That solution is heavy and complicated, what means huge price. Our goal is to develop solution to protect the filter without vacuum chamber.
Perspectives
Verified simulations that are presented in the paper let us decide responsibly about future changes in design. Now we are conscious about the uncertainty of results. What is more, the filter measured in real level of noise survived tests, what gave us information about maximum possible levels of noise.
