What is it about?

Examination of the blood supply and innervation of normal teeth and teeth with disease

Featured Image

Why is it important?

Blood supply and innervation of teeth are very hard to be examined in vivo. Pulse oximetry allows to have a complete observation of the status of the dental pulp along with the conventional electric and thermal tests.

Perspectives

Introduction of a new method for diagnostics in dental medicine, such as pulse oximetry, will help for making adequate treatment plan and selecting the best treatment options for the patient. This will reduce the unsuccessful rate of the dental treatments, because it will improve the diagnostic process.
